Hyatt Bridal Gala 2009

The Hyatt Regency Waikiki held their second Bridal Gala on April 26.  This was not the typical bridal show.  Michele Ganiko and her staff planned a unique experience for the couples in attendance.  As the prospective brides and grooms arrived they were escorted to the waterfall where they could have their photo taken by Eugene Kam Photography and see wedding attire by Anne Namba, Black Tie Affair and Creations by Toy.  Each attendee was taken on a tour of the property which included a look into the bridal suite and the Poolside Terrace Ceremony location.  The tour ended in the ballroom which was set for a dinner reception on one side and a post-reception lounge on the other side.

Gold Fever Booth

Eugene Kam Photography made a splash with gold at the Hawaii Bridal Expo held January 16 - 18 at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.  We collaborated with the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, Florist Grand, and Les Saison to create the Rodeo Drive intersection of the show.

The Kahala Bridal Showcase

Once again, The Kahala Hotel and Resort held their Bridal Showcase to highlight the property's commitment to elegant and elite wedding events.  Guests entering the Maile Ballroom were greeted with champagne and h'ordervs to enjoy while mingling with the hotel's preferred vendors.

We took inspiration from the store windows of New York City and created an art piece displaying all our brides from 2008.  There was also space to create a gallery of canvases from recent Kahala weddings.

Across at the Waialae Ballroom it was Club Kahala with a lounge atmosphere.  Being the exclusive florist for the hotel, Florist Grand had the task of creating floral splendor in every wedding venue. Evan Morita, along with Joseph Reyes, took it over the top and produced various looks with every bride in mind.  The show stopper was the ceremony and reception set up at Kahala o ke Kai.  It was beautiful by daylight, but at night, it was breathtaking.

Hawaii Bridal Expo Fall 08

Yes it's that time of the year. The Hawaii Bridal Expo at the Blaisdell Center was held in July. It's so difficult to create another theme but we enjoy the challenge of the creative process. We always want to be fresh and different. Our theme worked around a metal bodice Joy found at Ross's. Small frames accent the large panel images behind.

Something Sweet

Always pushing the edge, Evan Morita of Florist Grand wet everyone's pallet by showcasing an assortment of pink candy in his "Sweet" booth at the Bridal Expo at the Hawaii Convention Center. Eugene and Joy were fortunate enough to sneak a few samples since they helped set up for the show.

Grace Ormande at Halekulani

Go_image001

Grace Ormande Wedding Style Magazine made a visit to Hawaii for their upcoming issue. We were fortunate to be part of their Halekulani photo shoot on April 2. The magazine is known for floral editorials with male models since Grace feels it is so cliche' to see a beautiful woman holding flowers. Since Grace started featuring hunky guys with bouquets, nationally she has noticed photographers following her trend.

It was a pleasure to meet Grace Ormande who is so approachable and down to earth for a woman who is so influential in the wedding industry. Pictured below is Eugene, Grace and Naomi of Les Saison.

Were you guys at the bridal fair?

No matter how hard we try to make out booth stand out, there are always people we meet who attended the bridal fair that tell us they didn't see our booth.

"You guys weren't at the bridal fair!"

Hyatt bridal show

We had the honor of being Hyatt Regency's exclusive photographer for their bridal show. Here you see Joy working the show. Eventhough it was a rainy day, there was a line of eager couples waiting for the doors to open. Michele Ganiko, catering manager, planned games and prizes for couples who were willing to take part in the fun.
